The Government of Argentina has increased the import criterion values set on yarns of artificial staple fibres originating in certain Asian and South American markets.

On 29 June 2010, the Federal Administration for Public Revenue of Argentina (AFIP) has adopted General Resolution 2859/2010 increasing the import criterion values set on yarns of artificial fibres staples classified under tariffs subheading NCM 5510.90.00.
The new reference prices have been increased from a FOB value ranging between USD 3.76 and USD 4.26 per kilogramme depending on the characteristics of the product to a unique FOB value of USD 4.26 per kilogramme. The previously applicable values were set at External Notice 91/2008.
This General Resolution affects the following jurisdictions: the Republic of Korea, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Chinese Taipei, China, Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Lao, Myanmar and Sri Lanka.
This measure applied to imports taking place as of 30 June 2010.
