The Government of Argentina established import criterion values on press-fasteners originating in certain Asian locations, as well as, increased the already established reference prices set on rivets.

On 30 March 2010, the Federal Administration for Public Revenue (AFIP) has adopted General Resolution 2802/2010 establishing reference prices on imports of press-fasteners of different materials classified under tariffs subheadings NCM 9606.10.00 and 9606.22.00. The new import criterion values have been set at a FOB value of USD 5.00 and USD 7.00 per kilogramme depending on the characteristics of the product. Previously to this resolution, no import criterion values applied to these products.
In addition, General Resolution 2802/2010 has also increased the import criterion values established on rivets classified under tariffs subheading NCM 8308.20.00. The new reference prices were increased from a FOB value of USD 3.80 per kilogramme to FOB values ranging between USD 5.00 and USD 7.00 per kilogramme.
The new import criterion values affect the following jurisdictions: the Republic of Korea, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, China, Chinese Taipei, Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
This measure applied to imports taking place as of 31 March 2010.
On 17 February 2011, the AFIP adopted General Resolution 3041/2011 changing the applicable reference prices on NCM 9606.10.00, 9606.22.00and 8308.20.00 (please, see related state acts).
