Import tariff

On June 1st, 2012, the Government of Argentina adopted reference prices applicable to the importation of certain woven fabrics of synthetic staple fibers from China, Pakistan, and other Asian countries. The product subject to this measure is classified under the following tariff lines of MERCOSUR's Harmonized System: 5513.11.00, 5513.21.00, 5513.31.00, 5513.41.00 and 5513.49.19
These reference prices will enter into force on June 5, 2012.
Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature for imported goods in June 2005 (in Spanish: valores criterio decarácterpreventivo). The stated purpose is to strengthen customs control and prevent under-invoicing. Importers are required to provide guarantees for the difference in duties and taxes if the declared price of an import is lower than its reference price(see 7th GTA Report and 2014 National Trade Estimate Report).A list with all current import reference prices can be consulted <U+200E>
