Import tariff

On 23 November 2009, the Federal Administration for Public Revenue of Argentina (i.e. AFIP by its Spanish acronym) adopted General Resolution 2709/2009 increasing the reference prices set on spectacle frames and glasses classified under tariffs subheadings NCM 9003.11.00, 9003.19.10, 9003.19.90, 9004.10.00 and 9004.90.10. The previous values were set by External Notice 91/2008.

The new reference prices were increased from a FOB value ranging between USD 0.50 and USD 8.00 per unit to a FOB value ranging between USD 0.55 and USD 9.10 per unit depending on the characteristics of the product.

The new import criterion values affect the following jurisdictions: the Republic of Korea, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, China, Chinese Taipei, Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

This measure applied to imports taking place as of 24 November 2009.

On 22 July 2010, the AFIP adopted General Resolution 2872/2010 changing the applicable reference prices on  NCM 9003.11.00, 9003.19.10, 9003.19.90, 9004.10.00 and 9004.90.10 (please, see related state acts).
