Import tariff

On 12 August 2009, the Federal Administration for Public Revenue of Argentina (i.e. AFIP by its Spanish acronym) adopted External Notice 72/2009 establishing reference prices on imports of certain synthetic filament yarns classified under tariffs subheadings NCM 5402.31.11, 5402.31.19 and 5402.45.20. The new reference prices were set at a FOB value ranging between USD 5.94 and USD 9.28, USD 4.70 and USD 7.34, and USD 2.25 and USD 4.00 per kilogramme respectively. Previously to this notice, no reference prices applied to these tariffs subheadings.

The new legislation affected the following jurisdictions: the Republic of Korea, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Chinese Taipei, Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay.

This measure applied to imports taking place as of 13 August 2009.

 
Update
On 17 August 2010, the Federal Administration of Public Revenue (AFIP) adopted General Resolution 2891/2010 modifying the applicable reference prices set on 5402.45.20 (please, see related state acts).

On 30 September 2011, the AFIP adopted General Resolution 3190/2011 modifying the applicable reference prices on 5402.31.19. This resolution entered into force on 1 October 2011 (please, see related state ats).
