The Government of Argentina established import criterion values on certain car accessories originating in several Asian locations.

On 17 July 2009, the Federal Administration for Public Revenue of Argentina (i.e. AFIP by its Spanish acronym) adopted External Notice 65/2009 establishing reference prices on imports of certain accessories for cars classified under tariffs subheading NCM 8708.99.90.
The new reference prices were set at a FOB value of USD 10.50 and USD 13.00 per kilogramme depending on the characteristics of the product. Previously to this notice, no reference prices applied to this tariffs subheading.
The new legislation affected the following jurisdictions: the Republic of Korea, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Chinese Taipei, Philippines, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
This measure applied to imports taking place as of 18 July 2009.
