Import tariff

On 4 March 2009, the Federal Administration for Public Revenue of Argentina (i.e. AFIP by its Spanish acronym) adopted External Notice 20/2009 extending the reference prices set on imports of brake pads and brake accessories classified under tariffs subheadings NCM 6813.81.10, 6813.81.90, 6813.89.10, 8708.30.19, and 8708.30.90, to several new jurisdictions. The affected markets were Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Uruguay, Bolivia, Peru and Venezuela. 

The new reference prices affecting these jurisdictions were set at a FOB value ranging between USD 2.60 and USD 11.50 per kilogramme. Previously to this External Notice, no import criterion values applied.

This measure applied to imports taking place as of 5 March 2009.

Update
On 6 July 2015, the Federal Public Revenue Administration of Argentina has adopted General Resolution 3798/2015 establishing new reference prices for imports of car breaks and its parts. The new import criterion values apply as from 8 July 2015 (please, see related state acts).
