Safeguard

 On October 25, 2011, the Turkish authorities published an extension of a safeguard measure on imports of travel goods, handbags and similar containers under HS Code 4202
The following duties were suggested for a period of three years:
2.70US Dollars/Kilograms and maximum 4.25US Dollars/Pieces for the first year
2.60US Dollars/Kilograms and maximum 4.00US Dollars/Pieces for the second year
2.50US Dollars/Kilograms and maximum 3.75US Dollars/Pieces for the third year.
 
The safeguard investigation was primary initiated on June 5, 2007, when the following measures were implemented: 
Fixed duty of 3 US Dollars/Kilograms and maximum 5 US Dollars/Pieces for the first year,
2.90US Dollars/Kilograms and maximum 4.75US Dollars/Pieces for the second year
2.80US Dollars/Kilograms and maximum 4.50US Dollars/Pieces for the third year.
 
Certain developing countries were are excluded from the measure.
