ANNOUNCEMENT 18 Nov 2011

On 26 July 2010, the government of Brazil initiated a new anti-dumping investigation. Definitive duties were imposed in November 2011 and terminated in May 2012.

Anti-dumping

On 26 July 2010, the Brazilian authorities initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of toluene diisocyanates from Argentina and the United States. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 2929.10.21.

12 July 2011, the Brazilian authorities imposed a provisional duty on imports of the subject good from Argentina and the United States. The rate of duty on imports from the United States is between USD 805.12 and 1.130.27 per tonne depending on the company. The rate of duty on imports from Argentina is USD 916.68 per tonne. The measure is in force for a period of 6 months.

On 18 November 2011, the Brazilian authorities imposed a provisional duty on imports of the subject good from Argentina and the United States. The rate of duty on imports from the United States is between USD 887.44 and 1,255.86 per tonne depending on the company. The rate of duty on imports from Argentina is USD 1,018.54 per tonne. The measure is in force for a period of five years.

On 18 May 2012, the Brazilian authorities terminated the above definitive antidumping duty imposed on imports of toluene diisocyanates from Argentina and the United States.
