Import tariff

On 18 May 2012, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) reduced the import tariffs nine items from the IT and telecommunication sector to 2%. The products have been labeled as ex-tarifários, which are items with a tariff exception to the Mercosur Common External Tariff (TEC).
 
The following items have been affected by the measure:

  1. Portable data processors (Ex 001 of NCM 8471.30.19)
  2. Portable data processors (Ex 002 of NCM 8471.30.19)
  3. Portable data processors (Ex 003 of NCM 8471.30.19)
  4. Portable data processors (Ex 004 of NCM 8471.30.19)
  5. Portable data processors (Ex 005 of NCM 8471.30.19)
  6. Radios (Ex 001 of NCM 8525.50.19)
  7. Radios (Ex 002 of NCM 8525.50.19)
  8. Products for rail signalization (Ex 004 of NCM 8530.10.10)
  9. Condenser (Ex 003 of NCM 8532.24.10)

 
Camex resolution no. 33 came into power on 18 May 2012 and lasts until 31 December 2013.
