Anti-dumping

On July 3, 2009, the South African authorities initiated an anti-dumping investigation on imports of detonating fuses and detay detonators (commonly known as shocktubes) from China.
The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code: 3603.00.
The dumping is suspected to have occurred between January 1, 2004 and December 31, 2004.
As of 7 September 2016, the investigation was still under litigation according to the WTO semi-annual report of anti-dumping actions taken by South Africa.

On 24 August 2018, International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa terminated the antidumping investigation without the imposition of definitive duties. The investigation was terminated as no progress had been made and due to the long period the investigation had been underway.
