Safeguard

On August 22 2011, the Indonesian Safeguards Committee has initiated a safeguard investigation on the imports of articles of iron or steel wire under HS code 7326.2090.
The subject product are goods in the form of box, matrass or cylinder plaited with a double wound forming a hexagonal circle that is as big as 50 mm at minimum and 120 mm at maximum that has been plated and coated with Tin or PVC.
On 23 January 2012 the Investigating Authority proposed to the Indonesian Government the imposition of a safeguard measure in the form of a specific safeguard duty.
 
On 20 November 2012, the Minister of Finance imposed definitive safeguard measures on the product concerned, to be imposed until 19 November 2016.
