On April 24, 2012, the Government of Argentina adopted reference prices applicable to the importation of certain cermets and articles thereof, from Luxemburg, Israel, the US and other countries.
The products subject to this measure are classified under the following tariff lines of the MERCOSUR's Harmonized System: 8113.00.10, 8209.00.11, 8209.00.19, and 8209.00.90.
These reference prices entered into force on April 26, 2012.
Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature forimported goods in June 2005 (in Spanish: valores criterio decarácterpreventivo). The stated purpose is tostrengthencustomscontrolandprevent under-invoicing.
