FDI: Entry and ownership rule

On 20 April 2018, Myanmar's Investment Commission has through Notification 7/2018 allowed private schools to be established with full capital investments of foreigners, foreign organization/organizations or a foreign government organization. The schools where such investments are allowed are private basic education school, technical, vocation and training school, higher education school, and subject-based schools. Further, the schools can use the curriculum prescribed by Myanmar's ministries or use an international curriculum.

The Notification is valid until a new law relating to private schools, higher education, technical and vocational education and training is enacted.
