Financial grant

On August 10th, 2018, the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released Gongxinbu Lianxinruan 2018/140, a document revealing government-led support for expanding 'information consumption' in the PRC.

The plan included clauses stating that 'funding' for relevant projects and firms would be increased, as well as the application of preferential tax policies.

'Information consumption' is defined through the plan as a rather catch-all term, basically referring to the increased dense propagation of contemporary networked technologies to the far corners of the China's lands.

Examples given include:

  • 4G mobile network infrastructure;
  • New energy vehicles;
  • 'Smart' vehicles (i.e. networked vehicles);
  • Fiber optic (FTTP, FTTH etc.) internet infrastructure;
  • New display technologies;
  • Cloud-based technologies;
  • et cetera.
