Tax-based export incentive

On 24 October 2017, the Government of Argentina adopted Decree 853/2017 increasing temporarily the export rebates on 21 products associated with 19 tariff lines. The new export rebate levels have increased from 0% to percentages ranging between 4% and 7.5% depending on the product. The new changes introduced shall be in force until 31 July 2018, after that date, the export rebates will go back to 0%.

This regime consists of the total or partial reimbursement of the internal taxes related to the production and commercialization of the exported goods. The rebates specify a percentage of the exported good's FOB value that is granted as a tax credit. The tax credit may then be used to pay internal taxes such as the VAT on inputs for the exported products.
