Import tariff quota

On 3 August 2018, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Chamber (Camex) issued Resolution No. 51 temporarily eliminating the import tariff on sardines classified under tariff subheading 0303.53.00. This import duty applies for a quota of 50,000 tonnes and is valid for a six-month period. 

According to the WTO tariff database, the import duty applicable outside the quota is 10%.

Previously to this resolution, no import tariff quota applied to this product.

Update
On 25 October 2018, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council has adopted Resolution 82 revoking 124 resolutions including this one.
