Import-related non-tariff measure, nes

On 31 July 2017, the Ministry of Treasury of Chile adopted Decree 1140/2017 establishing the Authorized Economic Operator scheme. This program allows trade actors to get a special customs clearance status allowing them to speed up the importation process.

In order to adhere to the program, importers must prove that have been actively involved in trade activities at some point during the 3 years previous to the request, to have economic solvency, prove that during the previous three years it has not received any economic sanction and that none of the Executive Board or CEO has received an economic sanction.

This state act entered into force on 12 January 2018.

Export-related non-tariff measure, nes

The Authorized Economic Operator scheme established by Decree 1140/2017 adopted by the Ministry of Treasury of Chile on 31 July 2017, also allows exporters to obtain a special customs clearance status allowing them to speed up the exportation process.

Like in the case of importers, in order to adhere to the program, exporters must prove that have been actively involved in trade activities at some point during the 3 years previous to the request, to have economic solvency, prove that during the previous three years it has not received any economic sanction and that none of the Executive Board or CEO has received an economic sanction.

This General Resolution entered into force on 12 January 2018.
