Import tariff

On April 9, 2012, the Government of Argentina adopted reference prices applicable to the importation of certain type of tableware, kitchenware, house hold articles, and hygienic or toilet articles, of plastics from China, Brazil, Chile, and other countries. The products subject to this measure are classified under the following tariff line of the MERCOSUR's Harmonized System: 3924.90.00.
 
These reference prices will enter into force on April 11, 2012.
 
Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature forimported goods in June 2005 (in Spanish: valores criteriodecar√°cterpreventivo). The stated purpose is tostrengthencustomscontrolandpreventunder-invoicing.
