Export tax

The government of Egypt on 8 August 2018, eliminated the export tax applicable to sugar (per tonne).

 

The previous export tax on sugar was 3000 Egyptian Pounds per tonne (approximately USD 168). This export tax was introduced in 2017, as part of the government effort to increase the sugar prices in the local market.
