Import monitoring

On 26 April 2018, the European Union issued Regulation (EU) 2018/640 introducing import monitoring of certain aluminium products of a value exceeding a net weight of 2,500 kg per tariff line. The goods subject to monitoring fall under the following HS codes: 7601, 7604, 7605, 7606, 7607, 7608, 7609 and 7616.99. The subject goods are first released into the EU upon the production of a surveillance document. The mechanism is in force from 12 May 2018 to 15 May 2020.
