Trade finance

On October 26th,2015, an 11.915 billion yen ($98 million USD) loan agreement was signed with the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the International Main Roads Improvement Project; which seeks to improve the transport people and goods domestically and internationally. This loan will be part of the Japanese International Cooperation Agency's STEP program which implies that the loan will go towards providing Kyrgyzstan with Japanese technology for disaster prevention and bridge building. The loan will also go to public works, including road improvements, bridge replacement, tunnel construction, and falling rock and landslide measures, and to consulting services, including procurement assistance and construction supervision.

Special Terms for Economic Partnership (STEP)
A stipulation in JICA ODA loan agreements is the utilization of advanced Japanese technologies and the employment of Japanese firms in overseas projects.
