Import tariff

On 29 June 2018, the SARS adopted Notice R.653 establishing a full rebate on certain steel products classified under tariff subheadings 7208.51, 7208.52, 7208.53, 7208.54 and 7225.40. Previously to this resolution, the import duty was set at 10%.

This change of duty does not affect the EU, EFTA and SADC countries as they already enjoyed a 0% import duty on the affected goods.

The importation of these goods will be subject to the permit of the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa.
