On March 1, 2012 the Elkay Manufacturing Company filed a joint anti-dumping and countervailing duty petition against stainless steel sinks imported from China. The Department of Commerce published its anti-dumping order and its countervailing duty order on April 11, 2013.
This filing came shortly after Canada took action against the same product from the same country (see http://www.globaltradealert.org/measure/canada-final-dumping-and-subsidy-findings-against-stainless-steel-sinks-china).
On July 31, 2018 the U.S. International Trade Commission determined that revoking the existing antidumping and countervailing duty orders on imports of drawn stainless steel sinks from China would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time. As a result of the Commission’s affirmative determinations, the existing antidumping and countervailing duty orders on imports of this product from China will remain in place.
