Import tariff

On 14 June 2018, the Indian Ministry of Finance through Notification No. 47/2018 increased the import duty on crude edible vegetable oils from 25-30% to 35% and on refined vegetable oils from 35% to 45%, as follows - 

 

  • Crude oil from soybean, linseed, groundnut, olives, cottonseed, coconut, palm kernel, babassu, maize, castor, sesame - from 30% to 35%
  • Refined soyabean oil - 35% to 45%
  • Refined oil from soybean, linseed, groundnut, cottonseed, coconut, palm kernel, babassu, maize, castor, sesame - from 35% to 45%
  • Refined olive oil - from 30% to 40%
  • Crude Sunflower seed or safflower oil - from 25% to 35%
  • Refined Sunflower seed or safflower oil - from 35% to 45%
  • Crude rape or colza oil - from 25% to 35%
  • Refined rape or colza oil - from 35% to 45%
  • Vegetable fats and oils - from 35% to 45%
  • Margarine and other vegetable and animal fats and mixtures thereof (HS 1517, 1518) - from 35% to 45%
