Export tariff quota

On 5 February 2013, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry imposed a minimum export price of USD 1500 per metric ton on exports of edible oil in branded consumer packs of up to 5 kgs.

The export of edible oils has been prohibited since March 2008. However, oil exports in retail packs has been allowed with quota restrictions (See related state acts).

The MEP was later reduced to USD 1400 per metric ton in October 2013.
