Export quota

On 19 October 2012, the Indian Directorate General of Foreign Trade through Notification No. 24(RE-2012/2009-14) permitted the export of edible oil in branded consumer packs of 5 kgs., subject to a limit of 20,000 tons until 30 September 2013.

The export of edible oil has been prohibited since March 2008. However, export of edible oil in such consumer packs was permitted since November 2008 with an annual quota of 10,000 tonnes before being prohibited again in August 2012 (see related State Acts).
