Price stabilisation

In February 2016, China's National Development and Reform Commission announced the minimum state purchase price of early season rice would change thus:

Key - Type: price USD, CNY (change USD, CNY)

  • Early season: 404.29, 2660 (-6.08, -40)

The prices for mid-late season and Japonica rice were maintained at their 2014 levels (unchanged in 2015).

N.B.: All prices are per tonne.

The minimum state purchase price is the amount at which the government buys rice from farmers at the minimum price when the market price drops below that level.
