In a decision published in the May 2, 2018 edition of Customs Bulletin and Decisions, U.S. Customs and Border Protection proposed that hot max flat soapstone holders should be reclassified from HTSUS 7116.20.4000 (10.5% duty) to HTSUS 9017.20.8080 (4.6% duty). The change will be effective with respect to goods entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after June 18, 2018.
