On February 9, 2012, the Government of Argentina adopted reference prices applicable to the importation of certain type of rubber balloons for entertainment, including magic tricks and practical jokes, from Brazil and China, among others. The product subject to this measure is classified under the following tariff lines of the MERCOSUR's Harmonized System: 9505.90.00.
These reference prices entered into force on February 13, 2012.
Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature forimported goods in June 2005 (in Spanish: valorescriteriodecarácterpreventivo). The statedpurpose is tostrengthencustomscontrolandpreventunder-invoicing.
