On 24 January 2012, the Egyptian minister of industry (Mahmoud Eissa ) has indicated the intends of the ministry to ban the importation of industrial engineering equipment that has a domestic equivalentto enhance local production and to protect the industry.
"This phase is a phase of industry, we will give it all our attentionand support to encourage industrial production and expand theconstruction of new factories and their investments to create more jobsfor youths," Eissa said.
