Import tariff

Effective 1 January 2012, the government of South Africa removed import duties on a range of products.
The prior rates were:

  • Paper and cardboard: 1.95 percent.
  • Aluminium foil & plates: 1.3 percent.
  • Polymers: 2.6 percent.

 
Affected trading partners
The GTA retrieves its data on affected trading partners from UN Comtrade. However, for the year 2011, the database was not available to provide the affected trading partners for Botswana, Lesotho, and Swaziland.

AFFECTED SECTORS
