On January 4, 2012, the Government of Argentina imposed anti-dumping duties on imports of men's or boys' suits, ensembles, suit-type jackets, blazers, trousers, bib and brace overalls, breeches and shorts (other than swimwear) from China. The measure consists of a minimum import price of USD 81.50 per unit for all Chinese enterprises. The anti-dumping investigation initiated on February 12, 2010, upon request of the Argentinean Industrial Chamber of Apparel. The products subject to the anti-dumping duties are classified under the following tariff items of the MERCOSUR Harmonized System: 6203.11.00, 6203.12.00, 6203.19.00, 6203.22.00, 6203.23.00, 6203.29.10, 6203.29.90, 6203.31.00, 6203.32.00, 6203.33.00, and 6203.39.00.
On 7 December 2016, the Argentinian authorities initiated a sunset review of the anti-dumping measure imposed on imports of the subject good from China (Resolución 778 - E/2016). This follows the application lodged on 31 October 2016 by CONFECCIONES SEMAN S.A., NUNZIATI GROUP S.R.L., RINALDI CONFEZIONE S.R.L. and the Cámara Industrial Argentina de la Indumentaria. The duty remains in force for the duration of this investigation.
On 21 February 2018, the Argentinian authorities terminated the antidumping duty imposed on imports of the subject good from China following the conclusion of the above sunset review.
On 21 July 2017, the Argentinian authorities initiated an anti-circumvention investigation on imports of certain suits, ensembles, jackets and blazers declared as originating in Malaysia. The product subject to investigation is classified under the following HS code subheadings: 6203.11.00, 6203.12.00, 6203.19.00, 6203.22.00, 6203.23.00, 6203.29.10, 6203.29.90, 6203.31.00, 6203.32.00, 6203.33.00 and 6203.39.00. This investigation follows suspicion that the definitive antidumping duty imposed by Resolution No. 349 of 12 August 2011 on certain suits, ensembles, jackets and blazers from China is being circumvented by being declared as originating from Malaysia. The investigation follows the application lodged by FEDERACIÓN ARGENTINA DE LA INDUSTRIA DE LA INDUMENTARIA Y AFINES.
On 21 February 2018, the Argentinian authorities terminated the definitive antidumping duty imposed on imports of men's or boys' suits, ensembles, suit-type jackets, blazers, trousers, bib and brace overalls, breeches and shorts (other than swimwear) from China following the conclusion of a sunset review. As the anti-circumvention investigation is bound to the imposition of this definitive duty, the investigation is by default terminated.
