Import tariff quota

On September 26, 2012, the Secretariat for Central American Economic Integration Process (i.e COMIECO by its Spanish acronym) adopted Resolution 293-2012 allowing Guatemala to establish for the first time a temporary duty-free import quota on sorghum (HS Code 1007.90.00). The quota was set for 25,000 metric tonnes.

The applicable import tariff outside the quota was 20%.

This resolution applied until December 31, 2012.

Update
On December 11, 2012, the COMIECO adopted Resolution 299-2012 changing the volumes of duty-free import quota for sorghum and corn (please, see related state acts).
