Production subsidy

On March 16, 2015, the Ministry of Economy and Public Finance of Argentina issued Resolution 126/2015 announcing the creation of the Small Grain Producer Stimulus Program (i.e. Programa de Estímulo al Pequeño Productor de Granos in Spanish) financed with ARS 2,500 million (circa USD 284.4 million).

The program consists of a monetary subsidy provided to soybean, corn, wheat and sunflower national producers whose production accumulated up to 700 tonnes during the 2013/14 crop. The economic compensation is classified into seven different categories depending on production and range between ARS 45 (USD 5) per tonne for a production ranging between 600-700 tonnes and ARS 450 (USD 51) per tonne for a production of 100 or fewer tonnes.

The payment of the subsidy is carried unequally out on a monthly basis during one year, with payments ranging between 5% and 12%.

This Resolution entered into force on March 18, 2015.

This program has a temporary character and it is to terminate on 31 December 2015.

Update
On July 25, 2015, the Ministry of Economy and Public Finance of Argentina issued Resolution 615/2015 updating the program to include producers of up to 1,000 tonnes (please, see related state acts).
