In February 2018, the Indian Directorate General of Antidumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of flax yarn from China. In October 2018, a definitive duty was imposed.

Anti-dumping

The antidumping investigation on imports of flax yarn from China was initiated on 7 February 2018. The products subject to investigation are classified under HS code 5306.10.90 and 5306.20.90. The investigation follows the application lodged by Jaya Shree Textiles (A unit of Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd).

On 19 October 2018, the Indian authorities imposed a definitive antidumping duty on imports of the subject good from China. The rate of duty is between USD 0.5 and 4.83 per kilogram depending on the company. The duty is in force for a period of five years. The regulation imposing the definitive duty was published on 18 October 2018.
