On December 21, 2017, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (i.e. CAMEX by its acronym in Portuguese), issued Resolution 98 modifying the List of Exceptions to the Mercosur Common External Tariff.

On Resolution 98, from December 21, 2017, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Chamber (CAMEX) increased the import tariff on onions and shallots (NCM 0703.10.19) from 5% to 25%. This import duty is in force until December 31, 2018.
The Foreign Trade Council of Brazil eliminated the import tariff set on Dengue vaccines (NCM 3002.20.29) via Resolution 98 issued on December 21, 2017. The previous import tariff was set at 2%.
Update
On 3 July 2018, CAMEX issued Resolution 46 modifying the List of Exceptions to the Common External Tariff (LETEC) of Mercosur eliminating NCM 3002.20.29 from the list (please see related state acts).
Resolution 98 issued by the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council on December 21, 2017, also reduced the import duty on p-Xylene and malt (NCM 2902.43.00 and 1107.10.10) for a certain quota. In the case of p-Xylene, the new tariff was eliminated for a quota of 180,000 tonnes, whereas in the case of malt, the tariff was set at 2% for a quota of 156,531 tonnes. The import duty outside the quota is 4% and 14% respectively.
With regard to the import tariff set on onions and shallots (NCM 0703.10.19), Resolution 98, from December 21, 2017, and passed by the Brazilian Foreign Trade Chamber (CAMEX) established that starting from January 1, 2019, the applicable import duty would decrease from 25% to 20%. This new valid will be valid until December 31, 2019.
In addition, on December 21, 2017, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Chamber on Resolution 98 also reduced from 20% to 15% the import duty on onions and shallots (NCM 0703.10.19) starting from January 1, 2020. This new valid will be valid until December 31, 2020.
