Import tariff

The Brazilian Foreign Trade Council issued Resolution 76 introducing eight tariff lines in the list of auto parts not produced in the country. This action has lead to the decrease of the import tariff of these new products, which has been reduced to 2% from 14%, 16% and 18% depending on the subject good.

The new duties have a temporary character and apply until June 30, 2018, December 31, 2018, and December 31, 2019, depending on the product.

On 17 December 2018, the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council has adopted Resolution 102 revoking this Resolution as of 1 January 2019 (please, see related state acts).

Import tariff quota

Resolution 76 adopted by the Brazilian Foreign Trade Council (Camex) on September 20, 2017, also sets a temporary import tariff quota for NCM 9032.89.29 product category Ex 050. The new import duty has been established at 2% for a quota of 11,600 "mil". The import tariff outside the quota is set at 16%. These values apply until December 31, 2018. Previously, no import tariff quota applied to this product category.
