Anti-dumping

On March 14, 2017 the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC) initiated a preliminary antidumping investigation of silicon metal imported from Australia, Brazil, and Norway. It reached an affirmative determination in that investigation on April 24, 2017.

The Department of Commerce reached affirmative preliminary and final dumping determinations, but the case ended on March 23, 2018 when the USITC determined that a U.S. industry is not materially injured or threatened with material injury by reason of these imports. As a result of the negative determinations, no antidumping or countervailing duty orders will be issued.
