Import tariff

On 8 November 2014, the European Commission issued Regulation No. 1206/2014, suspending the import duties on maize, sorghum and rye. The previous import duty was 4.49 (USD 5.59) per tonne, see related state act. The subject goods are classified under HS code subheadings: 1002.10.00, 1002.90.00, 1005.10.90, 1005.90.00, 1007.10.90 and 1007.90.00. The duty was re-introduced by Regulation No. 1434/2017 in August 2017 (see related state act).

The measure follows the implementation of a flexible mechanism for import tariffs on grain imports (wheat, rye, maize and sorghum) in August 2010, see related state act.
