ANNOUNCEMENT 02 Oct 2017

In October 2017, the Secretary for Foreign Trade of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade decided to initiate an anti-subsidy investigation on imports of certain grinding bodies in cast iron and/or chromium-bonded steel from India. In April 2019, a definitive duty was imposed.

Anti-subsidy

The anti-subsidy investigation was initiated on 2 October 2017. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 7325.91.00. This investigation follows the application lodged on 27 April 2017 by Magotteaux Brasil Ltda.

On 1 April 2019, the Brazilian authorities imposed a definitive countervailing duty on imports of certain steel grinding bodies from India. The rate of duty is 2% and is in force for a period of five years.
