On the 10th of December 2012, the Chinese Ministry of Finance Office of Tariffs released its tariff schedule for the forthcoming year of 2013.

Import tariff

The plan also contained the schedule of import tariffs for 2013 - including reductions on the temporary tariff for 40 products in 2013. Six of these were removed or changed at the end of the year. The remainder were renewed for at least one year subsequently.

In addition to the main schedule, was a list of IT products exempt from import tariffs. The list had one more item added in 2013.

Export tax

As well as the above, the schedule for export tariffs was also released. Six items had a temporary per unit tax imposed upon them, where previously they were exempt from export taxes.

Additionally, eight items additionally had their ad valorem 'temporary' export tariffs lowered temporarily in 2013. MFN rates for all but one remained at zero.

Six of these were removed at or changed at the end of 2013.

Import tariff

Furthermore, some items also saw their import tariffs increased. Three of these are ongoing as of 2017. For the other, 85229039, the normal MFN tariff rate was changed, but the temporary tariff renewed once again.
