December 2nd, 2010 - China's State Council Tariffs and Tax Standards Commission released its annual tariff schedule for 2011, adjusting tariffs on more than 600 products.

Import tariff

The December 2010 release from the PRC Tariff Commission reveals that MFN import tariffs on eight photosensitive products will be adjusted, including a tariff raise on four products from 2011 onwards.

N.B. Information taken from Appendix 2 of the official release; units are converted from Chinese into 2011 USD/m2.

Import tariff

In addition to the adjustments above, the plan also includes the schedule of temporary import tariffs for 2011. This saw reductions in tariffs for 39 items in 2011. Of these, 11 were either removed or changed at the end of the year. The remainder were renewed for at least one year after 2011.

Also posted in a separate document (Attachment 2) were three reductions to per unit tariffs on photosensitive products. The units quoted here are converted from Chinese into 2013 USD/m<sup>2</sup>.

Export tax

The plan additionally revealed decreases in the temporary export tariff rate for eight items, which, as of 2017, have been renewed yearly and are all still in effect.

Finally, in addition to the decreases reported above, 10 additional items saw their export tariffs increased.

 

These temporary increases were renewed yearly until 2016, when this ceased.
