In August 2017, the Indian Directorate General of Antidumping & Allied Duties, Ministry of Commerce and Industry initiated an antidumping investigation on imports of nylon filament yarn (multi filament) from the European Union and Viet Nam. In October 2018, definitive duty was imposed.

Anti-dumping

The antidumping investigation was initiated on 22 August 2017. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 5402.10 in HS vintage 2017. The investigation follows the application lodged by JCT Limited, Gujarat Polyfilms Pvt Ltd, Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd, Prafful Overseas Pvt. Ltd and AYM Syntex.

On 6 October 2018, the Indian authorities imposed a definitive antidumping duty on imports of filament yarn (multi filament) from the European Union and Viet Nam. The rate of duty on imports from Viet Nam is USD 384.02 or 719.44 per tonne depending on the company. The rate of duty on imports from the European Union is USD 128.06 per tonne. The duty is in force for a period of five years. The regulation imposing the definitive duty was published on 5 October 2018.
