ANNOUNCEMENT 15 Aug 2017
In August 2017, the New Zealand authorities initiated an anti-subsidy investigation on imports of reinforcing steel bar and coil from China. The investigation was terminated without the imposition of duties in March 2018.

The anti-subsidy investigation was initiated on 15 August 2017. The products subject to investigation are classified under the following HS code subheading: 7213.10.90, 7214.99.90, 7213.91.90, 7213.99.90, 7227.90.00, 7214.20.90, 7228.30.00, 7228.50.00 and 7228.60.00. This investigation follows the application lodged on 10 March 2017 by Pacific Steel.
On 6 December 2017, the New Zealand authorities concluded the preliminary investigation and decided to continue the investigation without the imposition of provisional duties.
On 3 March 2018, the New Zealand authorities terminated the anti-subsidy investigation on imports of reinforcing steel bar and coil from China without the imposition of definitive duties.
