Import tariff

On October 12, 2011, the Government of Argentina adopted reference prices applicable to the importation of certain type of woven fabrics of cotton from China, Brazil and other countries.
 
The products subject to this measure are classified under the following tariff lines of the MERCOSUR's Harmonized System: 5208.11.00, 5208.12.00, 5208.21.00, 5208.22.00, 5208.31.00, 5208.32.00, 5208.33.00, 5208.39.00, 5208.42.00, 5208.51.00 5208.52.00, 5208.59.10 and 5208.59.90.
 
These reference prices entered into force on October 12, 2011.
 
Argentina introduced reference values of precautionary nature forimported goods in June 2005 (in Spanish:valorescriteriodecar√°cterpreventivo).Thestatedpurpose is tostrengthencustomscontrolandpreventunder-invoicing.
