August 6th, 2015 - In announcement No.34/2015, China's General Administration of Customs announced the addition of four grains to the list of products that need automatic import licenses to be brought into the PRC.

Import licensing requirement

On the 6th of August 2015, The PRC's General Administration of Customs released a circular declaring that from September of the same year, the following four grains would be subject to import licensing:

  • Barley
  • Sorghum
  • Cassava
  • Corn lees

Prior to this announcement, the products in question were not subject to import licensing, hence the classification of this as a red intervention.
