Air mattresses are being reclassified so as to make the product dutiable.
NUMBER OF INTERVENTIONS
In a decision published in the July 19, 2017 edition of Customs Bulletin and Decisions, U.S. Customs and Border Protection proposed that an inflatable queen-size bed made of polyvinyl chloride with flocking material on top be reclassified from HTS item 9403.70.80 (duty-free) to 3926.90.7500 (4.2% duty), with the applicable tariff thus being increased. Comments on the proposed revocations and modifications are due no later than August 18, 2017 and the final revocations and modifications will be effective for goods entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after September 18, 2017.
