Certain surgical microscopes are losing duty-free status.
NUMBER OF INTERVENTIONS
In a decision published in the July 19, 2017 edition of Customs Bulletin and Decisions, U.S. Customs and Border Protection proposed to revoke the eligibility of certain surgical microscopes for duty-free treatment under HTSUS item 9817.00.96, with the applicable tariff thus being increased to 3.5%. Comments on the proposed revocations and modifications are due no later than August 18, 2017 and the final revocations and modifications will be effective for goods entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after September 18, 2017.
