Public procurement localisation

On May 16, 2014 the governor of Minnesota signed into law a bill (SF2454) that (among many other provisions) created a Buy-American and Buy-Minnesota requirement for the government procurement of certain vehicles. The law amended section 84.025, subdivision 10 of Minnesota Statutes 2012 – the section of law dealing with the purchase of recreational vehicles and boats used for public purposes -- to provide as follows: “The commissioner shall give preference to engine models manufactured in the United States. All all-terrain vehicles purchased by the commissioner must be manufactured in the state of Minnesota.”
